This is long-term review.
I believe this is the first review I have ever left before for anything in my life. But being it is about the most important thing in my life, a review is warranted.
I do not live in Bozeman, but I was on a road trip traveling around the country with my dog, when she got very very sick back in May 2025 (7 months ago)
We were in Sioux City Iowa and than Sioux City South Dakota, where I took my dog to two different vets. Both of them misdiagnosed her!
How do I know, because we woke up a few days later and it was the sickest my 13 year old dog has ever been, all her symptoms got worse ten fold, I was 100% sure she was dying in that moment. Constant, seemingly non stop bloody diarrhea, bloody vomiting, and crying in obvious severe pain.
Every single vet I called within an hour radius, I must have called literally 50 of them, told me they had no time to help, they were too busy, make an appointment for weeks from now I even just stopped at a random veterinarian without calling, I put my dog on the ground, she was crawled into a ball crying, and they told me to make an appointment for another day and to please leave.
I was heading towards Bozeman as my next stop before Yellowstone, but still at least 12 hours away, but I got in the car and drove 12 hours straight to Bozeman.
I walked into Bozeman Pet Hospital and met with Dr Kountz almost immediately. Doctor Kountz basically diagnosed and started treatment on my dog in literally 60 seconds!
I showed her all the paperwork and tests from the 2 previous vets we just saw. She right away asked me, where is the pancreatitis test?......the other vets didn't do one, didn't even suggest it, they didn't even mention the word Pancreatitis to me.
Dr Kountz said my dog is displaying signs of severe pancreatitis. She told me a test is cheap and results in minutes. 10 minutes later it was confirmed my dog had pancreatitis, and they began treating her right away. She stayed there for a full day, they gave her lots of fluids, pain meds, anti nausea, and put her on a permanent prescription low fat diet.
Now fast forward to today, 7 months later, and my dog is acting half her age! They seemingly reversed her aging. She will be 14 years old soon, and she has the energy from when she was 7.
I personally feel that she was suffering with Pancreatitis for awhile, months? Years? But she was doing a great job of hiding any discomfort from me, until it got to a point where the symptoms became visible, and she could no longer mask it.
I can't thank this Animal Hospital enough, if you live in Bozeman, you are lucky to have such competent veterinary hospital in your town.
Wonderful staff. Funny, kind and professional. My dog had to have a surgical revision of sutures at a same day visit while on vacation away from our regular vet. They did a wonderful job and helped her in a pinch. Worth their weight in gold.
Horrific care. I've brought my dog here for a while unfortunately, won't be back. They charged me 90$ for a bottle of gen 1 antibiotic when I could've gotten one over the counter for 40$ and for 100 pills vs 10, didn't actually solve the problem. went to another vet, got more meds and a steroid and it came out to 130$, they charged 180 for a visit and 10 pills of a gen 1 antibiotic, Dr black was good, Dr Stephanie wolf is a horrific vet
I can’t say enough nice things about this place. All of the visits I’ve had with my cat have been so great! Their staff and doctors are honest, helpful, and knowledgeable. It’s so great to have a place to bring my cat where I know he will be well taken care of, as well as all of my concerns acknowledged and taken seriously. Thank you guys so much!!!!
